Geological Information
Aragonite is a calcium carbonate mineral who’s crystal system is orthorhombic. It was first discovered in Aragon province, Spain where its name was derived. The most popular form is the reddish Star Clusters which are found in Morocco. It also comes in a variety of other colors.

Aragonite is the main mineral of many organic substances and the cause of the iridescent surface in pearl, mother of pearl, abalone and ammolite. It is the dark brown component in septarian nodule.
