Ring ~ Sekhmet with Garnet

Description

Set with antique brass over brass and bronze, this ring features Sekhmet in her warrior form, a lion, with Garnet stones.

Sekhmet was the Egyptian Goddess of war and healing; she was a terrifying Goddess, although for her friends she could avert plague and cure disease. Sekhmet was a patron of physicians and healers.  She was depicted with the body of a woman with a lion head wearing a sun disk. Her name “the Powerful one” is from her fearful appearance as a lion-headed woman. Sekhmet was seen as the protector of the pharaohs and led them into war.
