Andalusite

Protection ~ Grounding

Andalusite is an aluminum silicate mineral. It occurs as both transparent crystals, and also opaque prismatic crystals that when sliced, are brown with a black cross through it. This form of Andalusite is also called Chiastolite, which comes from the Greek word “chiastos” meaning cross marked, or crosswise. The black crosses are caused by carbonaceous inclusions.

This cut of this stone, in which the black cross is visible, is wonderfully grounding, balancing and centering. The vibration of this ancient stone, while slower moving than other crystals, is said to carry the “very heartbeat of the Earth” within its crystalline structure. This sensation and connection to the Earth offers a sense of contentment, well being, and an excellent stone for helping sensitive people feel at home and safe. Those that do a great amount of higher vibration work or perhaps feel as though they do not belong on this Earthly plane may find this helps them feel secure, nurtured, and find that their home is wherever they are.

It is said to be good for psychic protection, and helpful in traversing difficult situations. Good for healers, as it cleanses and activates the higher chakras, allowing for a strong, steady flow of energy, and works to repair holes in the auric field. This is an exceptional stone for stimulating and creating wholeness through the entire body, particularly through the physical foundation; the skeletal system.

This stone, being so tapped into the pulse of the ancient world, is also wonderful for those working with accessing past life or Akashic Record information. It stimulates memory and recollection, tapping into ancestral knowledge.

This stone is friendly, and because of this, it is ideal for those trying to overcome feelings of loneliness, isolation, depression, anxiety and various fears.

  • Named after Andalusia in Spain, where it has been found.
  • Considered a protective stone for those traveling or working in areas of danger or negativity.
  • Protects one from psychic attack
  • Excellent for cleansing the Aura
  • Use during meditation to access the Akashic records

Andalusite is quite adaptable, allowing it to harmonize well with just about any other stones.
