This heart activation can bring on life changing effects and transformation.

History & Folklore

Dioptase was first described in 1797 by French mineralogist Rene Just Hauy. The name comes from the Greek word “diopetes,” which means “to see through,” referring to its transparent to translucent nature. In ancient Egypt, dioptase was prized for its vivid green color and was used to decorate jewelry and figurines.

Geological Information

Dioptase is a copper-based mineral with a deep emerald-green color. It is formed as secondary mineralization in the oxidation zones of copper deposits. It typically forms in small clusters or as coatings on other minerals, rather than in well-formed crystals. Its vivid color is due to the presence of copper in its chemical composition. It has a monoclinic crystal structure and is commonly found in association with other copper minerals such as malachite, azurite, and chrysocolla.
