Morganite is known as the “stone of divine love” as it gently supports and opens the heart chakra. It brings a sense of peace, joy and inner strength, and assists you in connecting to Divine love and the angelic heart. Morganite helps you to open up to love and be less fearful of vulnerability, which in effect can aid in deepening connections in intimate relationships and attract your soul mate. It can enhance compassion, empathy, and unconditional love, helping to dissolve barriers and negative emotions. Morganite may also stimulate spiritual growth and connect the wearer to higher realms of consciousness. Morganite can be used in meditation or placed under a pillow to promote peaceful sleep.
Morganite was first discovered in Madagascar in 1910 and named in honor of the American banker and mineral collector J.P. Morgan. It quickly gained popularity as a gemstone, especially during the Art Deco era of the 1920s and 1930s. Its soft, pink hue was the perfect complement to the bold geometric shapes and clean lines of the Art Deco style.
Morganite is a lovely pink variety of the mineral beryl, which also includes well-known gemstones such as emerald and aquamarine. It gets its pink color from the presence of manganese. It typically occurs in granite or pegmatite deposits, along with other beryl varieties which also includes heliodor.
Morganite works well with other heart-centered stones such as Rose Quartz and Rhodonite. It can also be paired with stones that promote spiritual growth and awakening, such as Moldavite or Amethyst. Morganite is also said to work well with water element stones, such as Aquamarine or Larimar.
