Unakite is a stone of balance and harmony, and it is known to assist in the integration of the emotional, spiritual, and mental aspects of oneself. It is believed to promote feelings of love, compassion, and kindness, and to aid in the healing of past traumas and emotional wounds. Unakite is also thought to promote healthy relationships and to help one to recognize and release negative patterns of behavior. Physically, it is said to be useful for the reproductive system, the heart, and the lungs.

It’s also known to absorb the “electromagnetic smog” given off by computers, monitors, television sets etc.

Geological Information

Unakite is a type of granite that is composed of pink feldspar, green epidote, and quartz. It is formed in metamorphic rocks and is typically found in association with other minerals such as mica and garnet. It was formed millions of years ago during the Precambrian period. Its distinctive green and pink coloration is a result of the presence of epidote and orthoclase feldspar, respectively. Unakite was first discovered in the Unaka Mountains of North Carolina in the United States in the early 1900s.

Unakite works well with other heart chakra stones, such as Rose Quartz and Green Aventurine, as well as with grounding stones like Black Tourmaline and Hematite. It is also believed to work well with shamanic stones such as Malachite and Labradorite.
