Obsidian Cat

Description

The cat is associated with mystery, independence, intuition, and the unseen realms. Moving quietly between light and shadow, cats seem to possess an understanding of the world that exists just beyond our ordinary perception. Especially a Black Cat 🐈‍⬛

In ancient Egypt, cats were revered and associated with the goddess Bastet, a deity connected with protection, the home, fertility, and the pleasures of life. In later folklore, cats became familiar companions of witches and keepers of magical secrets, their watchful eyes and nocturnal ways adding to their otherworldly reputation.

Carved in obsidian, the cat brings together the protective symbolism of this volcanic glass with the cat’s associations with intuition, personal boundaries, and quiet strength. It is a lovely companion for those who walk their own path, honor their instincts, and appreciate a little mystery in their magic.

A small guardian for your altar, sacred space, or home, this obsidian cat reminds us that not everything needs to be explained. Sometimes we simply need to trust what we know.
