The Norse god Odin was said to have Ravens upon each shoulder. In Christianity, Noah sent a Raven from the Arc to find land after the floods. Native American cultures believe the Ravens stole the Sun. Celtic deities were said to transform into Ravens. Ravens augur transition.
Their jet black plumage shines iridescent in the sunlight, so Ravens are known as shapeshifters. Gifted with intelligence, Ravens are often represented as a communicator, sometimes seen as a messenger from the underworld. Ravens facilitate rebirth, recovery and healing. A group of Ravens is called an Unkindness.
