Obsidian ~ Snowflake

Snowflake Obsidian formed where the glass has become devitrified around detectable points. These light patches look like snowflakes when they’re polished.

Has the property of bringing things to the surface. The things brought to the surface could be positive or negative, love, anger, secrets; but with snowflake obsidian, these things are brought to the surface more gently than they might be otherwise. Said to provide balance during times of change. It aids in seeing patterns in life and recreating them in a more beneficial way. It is a stone of serenity and purity, and can shield against negativity.

Obsidian is a silica-rich, glassy volcanic rock with a water content of less than one percent. It is an amorphous stone, meaning that its structure contains no regular geometric pattern. Since it breaks with very sharp conchoidal fractures it has been used to make tools and arrowheads since Paleolithic times.
