Description
This Feather Raku Hot Plate is created by Jeremy Diller in Tecate, California. Each of his products are individually hand made in Jeremy’s studio and infused with love. Each piece is hand formed and fired in an outdoor kiln to over 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. Molten hot, it is placed in a pit with dried brush and mesquite shavings that burst into flame. The varying conditions of the Raku pottery process assure that each piece is “one of a kind.” Not everyone survives their trial by fire. The ones that do cultivate strength and beauty.
In many cultures, feathers are symbols for freedom, truth, ascension and spiritual evolution. Because they are a product of birds, feathers are said to harness the power of the air and wind. Birds fly wherever the wind may take them, they are free to come and go as they please without boundaries. This makes birds and feathers the ultimate symbols of freedom.
